TAS5760L: Output voltage level of TAS5760L at THD+N≦1%

Dear Sirs,

My customer asked us about output voltage level of TAS5760L at THD+N≦0.8%.
When he checked on his prototype board, the output voltage was 6.8 Vrms (7.9 W).
So he was asked whether I to TAS5760L can not output of more than 8W.

I attempted to check with EVM, but there is no TAS5760LEVM.
Also he is using 32 pin type. (TAS5760MDEVM has 48 pins for EVM)

So please let me know the output voltage under the condition of THD+N≦1% with TAS5760L.
The conditions of use of the customer are as follows.

PVDD: 12 V
RL: 6 Ω
THD + N: ≦ 0.8%
Device Control: Hardware (0 dB)
Vsoft clipper: GVDD

Hi Hasebe-san,
Actually you can do this measurement on TAS5760M EVM. For 12V application, the performance should be very similar between M versiona and L version.

Hello Shawn-san,

I already had checked TAS5760MEVM.
TAS5760MEVM has only 48 pin device mounted.
There is no 32-pin TAS5760MEVM.
Because the size of the device is different, I think that it becomes different also in heat dissipation area.
I am not asking that data is similar but I'm asking if there is no difference as actual data.

Please let me know the composition of TAS5760L and TAS5760M and the contents if it is structurally same.

Hi Hasebe-san,
The difference in max output power at 1% THD between 32pin and 48pin should be very small, it basically depends on the Rdson. And the Rdson is the same between them.

However, TAS5760L's PVDD is Max. 16.5V max and TAS5760M's PVDD is Max. 26.4V.
Is there really a difference in output under customer conditions due to this PVDD difference?
Also, is there actual data of TAS5760L?

Hi Hasebe-san,
They are actually sharing the same power stage, but the OV THR setting is different between them. So their peformance should be the same when PVDD is below 16.5V.
