PCM1863: PCM1863 ADC values

Part Number: PCM1863

Hey there,

I use the PCM1863 just as a high-resolution ADC and not for an audio application. I was able to receive the PCM-Data via I2S. For testing, I put a function generator on the input of the PCM, coupled with some capacities. With this function generator, I insert different voltages with different frequencies. Now I can´t really find linearities between the data-values and the voltages even when the frequency is static. In the SLCA663-file I already found the linear coefficient but I can`t explain it by my own.

Best regards and thanks for your help.

  • Hi, Felix,

The inputs of the PCM1863 supports a full-scale input voltage in single-ended mode of 2.1Vrms. The digital output reflects the output value referenced to this value. The analog signal provided to the device should not exceed the full-scale voltage, otherwise clipping will occur. '

For example, if you provide a 2.1Vrms sinewave (5.94Vpp), you will get a 0dB output, if you provide a 1.05Vrms sinewave (2.96Vpp), a -6dB output will be obtained at the output.

    Best Regards,
