Hello,

If we want to use TAS3251 to drive 8ohm load, what aspects should we pay attention to? Because the datasheet doesn't list some information of 8ohm load, it describes some electrical characteristics of 4ohm, 2ohm instead of 8ohm. So could you please give me some suggestion?

Hi Kailyn,
Could you please let me know more background about this application? e.g. PVDD? Output power? Usually higher load resistance causes higher efficiency and better THD. But you need to know that the max output power is lower with higher load resistance.

Hi Shawn,

The customer is going to refer to the PMP10215 design, PVDD =36, the output power need get to 100W with 8ohm load.Do you have any suggestion?

Hi Kailyn,
For PVDD=36V and Rload=8Ohm, the max output power is less than 81W according to Ohm's Law. No class-d can support 100W output power in this case. Please use lower load resistance for so high output power.
