  • Shreenidhi,

for part 2.5 did you install the drivers?

The download contains two inf files that need to be manually installed.

    instructions for USB-MODEVM_vista&7.inf
    ; Installation:
; To apply the contents of this file to a system's settings, right-click
; this file and choose "Install". If the device was plugged in before this
; file is installed, the device will need to be removed from the "Unknown
; Devices" class in the Windows Device Manager.

    instructions for USB-MODEVM_WDM.inf

    ; Installation:
; To apply the contents of this file to a system's settings, copy this file
; to %SystemRoot%\inf and reboot the computer. If the device was
; installed before this file is copied, the device will need to be removed
; from the "Unknown Devices" class in the Windows Device Manager.

  • Dear Steve Wilson,

    Thanks for your great help,

Yes, I have already installed the drivers.
    also, both drivers were updated.
  • Mayuir,

When you plug in the USBMODEVM to the PC, does D2 (near the USB connector) light up?

    best regards,
    -Steve Wilson
  • Dear Steve Wilson,

  • Have you tried it on a computer not running VMware? that is running windows natively?

I am running this GUI on my laptop running Windows 7, its very common for us to support customers using windows 7.

    best regards,
    -Steve
  • We have windows 10 natively only.
In this OS, I am getting "The Windows Installer engine is corrupt. To attempt to resolve this issue, please register the engine by running regsvr32.exe on msi.dll." error while installing setup.exe.
I have done the same steps what done in VMware.
AIC310x can not be installed in windows 10?

    Best regards,
    Mayur Shankariya

  • Mayur,

If you right click the setup.exe and select "troubleshoot compatibility" you should be able to install on windows 10. The issue then becomes installing the drivers. as you need to turn off the driver signature enforcement.

We are working on updating these GUIs to make the installation process less troublesome, but the update is not ready. I appreciate your patience with this process.

    best regards,
    -Steve Wilson
