PCM2707C: intermittent operation of USB DAC

Part Number: PCM2707C

Hi,

I made a PCM2707 based I2S converter followed by PCM5122 DAC and facing irregular playback.

My OS is Windows 8.

The device is getting listed as USB AUDIO DAC, but plays for 1-2 seconds again stops and resumes in the same way/

What could be the reason?

Thanks and regards,

Sumesh

  • Hi Sumesh,

I am not aware of an obvious issue that would cause this.  Does your USB port supply the required current for your system? Does the device get detected correctly by the PC?  In addition, you could confirm if the I2S signal is continuous and the DAC stops playing, or the PCM2707 is stopping the digital output.  This would help determine if the 2707 or PCM5122.

A schematic of your system would be useful as well.

    Thanks,

    Paul

  • Dear Sir,

Thanks for the reply. Yesterday I checked every track of my pcb and found that one ground trace was showing a difference of 0.1V to another ground trace. I connected those traces together and it started working continuously...!!! felt so happy...it sound great.....Thank you.

    Thanks and regards,

    Sumesh
