PGA2320: Level shift for AGND (voltage betwen AGND & DGND)

Part Number: PGA2320

Hi all!

The documentation says that the grounds are not dependent, but will the device work correctly if the voltage difference between the ground is 5V?

I can use virtual analog ground connection scheme:

Thank you!

  • HI Nikita,

The device will not work properly if the AGND and DGND pins are set at different voltages. The analog ground plane and digital ground plane must be both at the same potential (0-V) at all times. The Digital and Analog ground planes must be connected together as recommended on Figure 6 (page 12 of the datasheet).

Since no voltage is allowed between AGND and DGND,  please note the PGA2320 will require a negative VA- supply in the range of -4.5V to -15.5V; the device will not work with VA- set to zero volts.

    Thank you,

    Kind Regards,

    Luis
