PCM3070: Multiplexing on the primary and secondary I2S ports

Part Number: PCM3070
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3212

Hi, Looking at the PCM3070 I understand that it has multiple I2S ports. In a previous discussion on this forum and also with reference to the application note regarding this fact; it is possible to communicate with multiple external audio processors.

My question is regarding the clock speeds and timing required to achieve this. For example, if I wish to run all my audio streams at 48KHz, that is 48ksps between the PCM3070 and audio processor 1 and also 48ksps between PCM3070 and audio processor 2. Is it necessary to operate both the I2S buses at 96KHz and bit stuff the missing samples?

I'm afraid I can not seem to find a clear explanation of how such a scheme can be implemented.

Please suggest what possibilities exist.

All the best
