TAS5825M: About I2C fall time on standard-mode

Part Number: TAS5825M

Hello,

Regarding to Fall time of I2C Standard-mode on TAS5825M, my customer is asking a question.

According to datasheet, fall time of SCL/SDA are 20+0.1*CB (ns) to 1000(ns).

But according to I2C specification(UM10204), it is characterized only maximum 300(ns) at Standard-mode.

・I2C specification

(Question)

On their application(TAS5825M), fall time of SCL/SDA are 4.4/4.2(ns) on Standard-mode.

Are there any problem with values as I2C specification?

Are these values matched on Standard-mode specification?

  • Hi Tao,

The UM10204 I2C tf fast mode min value is 20*(Vdd/5.5) as below.

TAS5825 IC design specs the same min spec for both standard and fast mode to maintain stability. So it's suggested to follow datasheet spec requirement, and modify 4.4/4.2(ns) fall time of SCL/SDA to meet requirements.

    Regards,
