TLV320AIC23B: what's the relationship between Vref and FSR (full scale range)

Part Number: TLV320AIC23B

Dear expert,

I see in TLV320AI datasheet "functional block diagram", Vref for ADC is AVDD/2. In "Line Input to ADC" section, the FSR (full scale range) is 1Vrms.

My question is what's the relationship between Vref and FSR?

In TI's blog, it says this relationship, is this also true for audio CODEC's ADC?

Thank you

  • Jiang,

The AIC23B is a rather old device, As you noticed,  the FSR is 1Vrms at AVDD = 3.3V.  I would expect the FSR to decrease with AVDD, but I do not have data or design support to say much beyond that.

many of our other codecs like the AIC3104 have a regulated Vref, so the FSR remains constant from 2.7V -3.6V.
