TAS5805M: Audio process latency for TAS5805M

Part Number: TAS5805M
Hi,

1. When “ALL PASS” is selected in the Biquads Filter Is there a difference in delay time when GAIN is set to 0 dB with “ON”? 2. In the FIR Filter, when b0 is 1 ... 000 Is there a difference in the delay time when b127 is 1 ... 000? Does TAS5805M DSP process have audio buffer? Customer wants to know latency time whether TAS5805M DSP process has audio buffer.
if so, Please let me know how many samples.

Regards,

  • hello Itoh,

     1.     When “ALL PASS” is selected in the Biquads Filter

[AS] filter setting will impact delay. PPC3 EQ "plot type"can be select as "group delay" and you can see delay differences with different config.

"all pass" IIR could be no group delay.

    2. In the FIR Filter, when b0 is 1 ... 000
Is there a difference in the delay time when b127 is 1 ... 000?

[AS] 1....0000 is 0 sample delay

            0000..1 is 127 sample delay

[AS] not sure about the question of audio buffer. latency mainly coming from EQ and SRC.

    regards

  • Hello,

Thank you for your support. Customer is checking your answer now.

Additional question is that Customer measured latency for FS@48KHz and FS96KHz.

And measurement delta FS@48KHz and FS96KHz was latency around 2ms~2.5ms.

I think, it is margin for error.    Do you have reason why different latency between FS@48KHz and FS96KHz?

    Regards,

  • Hi Itoh,

Could you share customer measurement data? As for 48kHz / 96kHz difference, the DSP latency unit is samples, so different sample rate will cause different time latency.

    Regards,

    Matthew
