TAS3251: Three-Way Powered Speaker application as of section 9.1 of Datasheet

Part Number: TAS3251

The TAS3251 datasheet describes in section 9.1 Typical applications the below case:

Three-Way Powered Speaker - the TAS3251 processing and amplifier support a three-way active speaker
with a tweeter, mid-range and woofer each driven by independent amplifiers. This allows the removal of
passive crossover components in the speaker. This can be accomplished by using two TAS3251 devices (2x
BTL + 1x PBTL) or three TAS3251 devices each configured in PBTL.

However, as the TAS3251 can only have 1 out of 2 I2C adresses, I don' t see how a single I2C master could control (without additiona hardware) more than 2 TAS3251 chips, and especially the Volume, that has to be controlled on all channels by a single I2C master.

1) Did I missed some features that would allow to have a single I2C master control 3 x TAS3251 ?

2) How would you implement the Section 9.1 Three-Way Powered Speaker three TAS3251 devices each configured in PBTL ?

Best regards,

JMF
