LM386: LM386 Av (min) and Av (max)

Part Number: LM386

Hello,

My customer considers to replace NJRC NJM368M with TI LM386.

At their application, pin#1 and pin#8 are left unconnected, this means Av(typ) = 26dB.

In this case, NJM368M gain is specified 26dB(typ), 24dB(min) and 28dB(max) in the datasheet,

On the other hand, LM386 datasheet specifies only typical gain Av (typ), 26dB @ Vs=6V, f=1KHz.

How about variations, how much is Av (min) and Av (max) at the same conditions based on characterization data?

TI does not test minimum/maximum Av at ATE before shipping?

Best regards,

  • Hirano-san,

    Thank you for your observation.

This device has a 20% variation from min vale to typical and from typical value to maximum. So, the min value would be around 23dB and the maximum around 29dB.

Please let me know if you have questions or comments on this.
