TPA3128D2: TPA3128D2 : for 30W output Power in PBTL mode (or Mono Mode)

Part Number: TPA3128D2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3129D2, TPA3110D2

Hi.

I am trying to develop an Audio Power AMP up to 30W in Mono Mode.

I want to use one 8Ω speaker at 12V.

The TPA3128D2 and TPA3129D2 are under review.

According to the datasheet, the TPA3128D2 can be connected in PBTL mode enabling up to 60W output power. Would it become about 30W output power at 12V?

The TPA3129D2 just mentions Mono Mode, not PBTL Mode. Isn't PBTL Mode supported? Is it possible to output maximum 30W when in Mono Mode?

Similar to the TPA3128D2, the TPA3110D2 uses OUTPL / OUTNL and OUTPR / OUTNR in PBTL mode configuration. Since it is a 2x15W AMP, can the TPA3110D2 operate up to 30W at 24V input?

Thanks.

  • Hi ChangKyu,

TPA3128 can support 30W output power at 12V on PBTL mode. The output power on PBTL mode should be 2 times than BTL mode. You can calculate the PBTL mode power according to figure 11 in datasheet.

    TPA3129 can not support 30W @ 8 ohm on PBTL mode, but can support 30W @ 4ohm.

You need add heat-sink on device if you need operate TPA3110 up to 30W at 24V input.

We suggest you can evaluate your application on EVM boards, and also can evaluate audio performance on EVM boards.

    Regards,

    Derek
