TAS5805MEVM: How to configure TAS5805MEVM for measuring cross talk ?

Part Number: TAS5805MEVM

Hi

How to configure for measuring cross talk ?  Is there an reference purtpath file for this.

We are doing this testing on TAS5805MEVM  but the result we got -40dB was far below as the result mentioned in datasheet , Any idea where might be wrong?

  • Hi PYTsai,

    What's your test condition: PVDD, Load, Output power, PWM frequency / modulation, analog bandwidth?

    Did you add A-weighting filter during crosstalk measurement?

    Regards,
    Matthew

  • Hi Matthew,

    Below is our test condition, would you help check if they are correct for testing the cross talk? thanks!

    PVDD = 24V

    Load  = 8 ohm speaker

    Output power = 1W

    PWM frequency / modulation = 1 SPW BTL

    analog bandwidth = 20 ~ 20K

     Did you add A-weighting filter during crosstalk measurement = No

  • Hi PYTsai,

    Just confirmed with our validation team. Crosstalk is highly related to PCB board layout and inductor selection (better shielding type), so datasheet specs are measured using internal MTS board, not EVM board. It's the root cause that you couldn't reproduce similar level performance with EVM board.

    In order to improve the result, maybe you could change inductor to better shielding one, such as Murata Metal Alloy power inductor, and optimize layout to leave more space between left and right channel, even rotate the inductor direction (90C inverse between left and right channel) for better Xtalk.

    Regards,

    Matthew
