TAS5825M: CFG file

Part Number: TAS5825M

Hello,

Our customer try to add AGL function to TAS5825M. There are two concerns.

1) Hidden register 0x7e value is changed from 00 to e7 when we load all of dumped cfg file.

Even we did not write this register, what is meaning of this value?

2) There is Dump mode selection when we dump header/cfg file on PPC3.

We are facing clock fault error when use "Current State Cold Boot" Dump mode.

Then change to "Current State" Dump mode, clock fault error is disappeared.

What is reason of this difference?

And what is your recommendation Dump mode to create initialization file.

Regards,

Mochizuki

  • Hi Mochi,

As it is Saturday now, our audio expert can't answer your question right now. He will feedback you at Monday when back to office.

  • Hi Mochi,

    1. There are some internal usage registers whose value might change. Please specify the Book and Page of 0x7e register.

    2. Does the clock fault error still exist after all initialization script writing down? 'Current State'  with datasheet required Startup sequence is our recommendation. 'Current State - Clod Boot' is one backup option if customer couldn't provide I2S before I2C writing.

    Regards,

    Matthew

  • Hi Matthew-san,

The clock fault error does not exist after 'Current State' cfg file initialization.

The number of book and page of 0x7eh register is just following 0x78h Registor120, there is no description on the datasheet.

  • Hi Mochizuki,

Please help customer check whether startup sequence is followed. Wha't more, how about the clock fault status after all script is downloaded using 'Current State - Clod Boot'?

As for book and page, datasheet 9.5.2.5 descript the operation. Page is located at 0x00 register, Book is 0x7F register. You need to check 0x7e register Book and Page.

    Regards,

    Matthew

  • Hi Matthew,

When use 'Current State - Clod Boot' script, clock fault is existed.

Then we had changed it to 'Current State' script, the fault was disappeared.

0x7e book and page are 00, because we do continuous read-out all of register from 0x00 at 00 book and page.

    Mochizuki

  • Hi Mochizuki,

Book0 Page0 Register0x7e is one internal reserved register, it does not have influence with audio performance after initialization.

'Current State' dump mode is recommended for customer to move forward together with required sequence.

    Regards,

    Matthew

  • Hi Matthew,

Our customer understood Book0 Page0 Register0x7e is internal reserved register.

They just want to get confirmation from TI about read out value  "b4" is right value or not.

    Regards,

    Mochizuki

  • Hi Mochi,

We do think '0x7e' register is not the key to affect audio performance. So please let us know if detailed issue faced.

    Regards,

    Matthew
