Hello,

I have a question about microphone connection of TLV320ADC5140.

Is it possible to connect a single microphone to 4 ADCs to make 4channel summation mode?

Is there any side-effect of this system?

    Hello, Jin Hyung,

    Yes, connecting one microphone to four inputs and using channel summing will boost the performance of the ADC by 6dB.  You may consider the TLV320ADC6140 if you're looking for the highest levels of performance and with channel summing, the base non-DRE performance will be 119dB which is really stellar for a product in this space.

    The main "side-effect" is that the input impedance of the four channels will appear in parallel as a load to the microphone.  Using the higher input impedance settings will minimize these effects.
