TAS3251: I2C spec

Hello experts,

I got question about I2C spec from customer.

In datasheet P8 section 7.3, VIH(min) is defined as 0.9 x VDAC_DVDD.

Also, VIL(max) is defined as 0.1 x VDAC_DVDD.

In generally, I2C VIH/VIL voltage are 0.7VDD/0.3VDD, I think.

TAS3251's case is tight requirement compared with I2C specification. Is it right?

I would appreciate if you would give me comment about I2C spec.

Thanks for bringing this into our attention.

Yes, you are right, in most cases the VIH/VIL threshold are 70%/30% VDD. In fact, on page 11 of datasheet, we have the description as 30%/70%.

Not sure where the 10%/90% spec comes from, but I think 30%/70% is good to use.

So, can we think the description "VIH/VIL = 0.9VDD/0.1VDD" in P8 is typo?

Hi Ryo-san,

I would not say it's a typo. 10%/90% is the "Recommended Operating Conditions", and the 30%/70% are the thresholds indeed.
