TPA2005D1: Analog amplifier

Part Number: TPA2005D1

Hello there,

We are planning to use TPA2005D1DRBR audio amplifier for output power of 1W.

The thing is we are planning to use CR2032 or CR2477 coin cell for supplying power, the datasheet of both is attached.

Please suggest if it is possible or not? or is there any other solutions?

  • Hi, Suraj,

Unfortunately, the customer would require of higher voltage (at least 5V) in order to ensure an output power of 1W. As specified in the 7.6 Operating Characteristics section, 3.3V case would be below the output power that the customer requires. Unfortunately we don't have a solution that reaches this output power with this power supply.

  • Hi,

I am planning to use booster (TPA2005D1) for 5V generation. But my question is,

CR2032 cell is capable of providing enough current to make Audio amplifier and booster work?

    Regards,

    Suraj

  • Hi, Suraj,

Regarding the booster, unfortunately I cannot provide enough details since I'm supporting the audio products. However, I would recommend you to start a new E2E thread asking for a particular booster you are interested in.

Regarding the audio devices, it is possible to work with power cells. However, the inconvenient is that these cells starts to loose voltage capacity after several cycles. So, we recommend to have a voltage regulator in order to maintain the voltage level always stable. Otherwise, there's risk to have lower THD+N level and also a lower output power.
