Hi,
SE mode is short for Single-end mode. You may refer to Page 24 of TPA3251 datasheet for more detail.
On TAS3251, "The output DC protection scheme protects a speaker from excess DC current in case one terminal of the
speaker is connected to the amplifier while the other is accidentally shorted to the chassis ground."
So for external DC protection, you may insert one current sensing resistor on each of the speaker terminal, and compare the voltage difference. A large difference means the current is not flowing well in the H bridge and going to somewhere else, causing a DC issue.
