DRV135: Design check

Part Number: DRV135

Hi,

Good day. I hope you are doing fine.

Our customer wants to use the DRV135 and they want to know if the implementation is okay. I've tried to look for a reference design unfortunately I was not able to find one. Kindly see attached file.

I hope you could provide your feedback on this. I would appreciate your help on this.

Thank you.

Regards,

Cedrick

  • The DRV135 is not a speaker driver. Well, maybe it can drive a tiny thing but it's meant to drive balanced signal lines that end with a moderate load impedance.

  • Hello Cedrick,

The customer's DRV135 circuits looks okay. As long as the "speaker" impedance is 600 Ohms, then the DRV135 will see a differential impedance of 600 Ohms across its outputs by virtue of the output transformer's 1:1 ratio. The gain for the circuit will be about 6 dB (2 V/V).

It is recommended that the 1 uF power supply bypass capacitors as seen in the datasheet, Section 8.2 - Functional Block Diagram, be included in the circuit.
