TLV320AIC3204: schematic check

Part Number: TLV320AIC3204

Hi team,

Could you please help check the schematic as attached and any need to adjust?

Thank you!

  • Hello Zoe,

    Power:

    • All key power-supplies are properly decoupled with capacitors.  Make sure these capacitors are located physically close to the CODEC.  IOVDD capacitance could be increased to 1uF, but not required.

    Control Interface (I2C):

    • I2C pull-ups not shown but we're assuming they're on another page

    Audio Interface (I2S):

    • DOUT signal quality could improve with a small ~10-33Ohm resistor in series with the output.
    • MCLK Input fed from 50MHz oscillator.  What is the plan with the 50MHz MCLK in regards to the sampling rates and BCLK frequency?

    Inputs:

    • Unused inputs properly terminated to GND through a 0.1uF capacitor
    • MICBIAS can be left floating if not used.  Remove the 0.1uF capacitor from the MICBIAS pin (see note below).  10.2.1.2 MICBIAS The TLV320AIC3204 has a built-in bias voltage output for biasing of microphones. No intentional capacitors should be connected directly to the MICBIAS output for filtering
    • In addition to forming a voltage divider with the 47k resistors to GND, the 1k input resistors (R84, R85) will result in a slight negative gain error due to interactions with the device input impedance

    Outputs:

    • It's hard to determine what the anti-aliasing frequency will be for the output filter, but be sure to include a filter that reduces the out-of-band noise or they will be unhappy with the device noise performance.
