TAS2563: Sampling DMIC and sending samples through SDOUT

Part Number: TAS2563

Hi,

In this tread https://e2e.ti.com/support/audio/f/6/t/862457, it is said that sampling DMIC and sending samples through SDOUT is under development. I wonder if development is finished? If not, then what is the expected due date for this development?

I also want to learn what is the purpose of PDMD in TAS2563 if there is no recording feature. Or is there any other usage of it, like noise cancellation etc? Or Is PDMD only exist for further development? Am I missing something here? Because I will use DMIC in the design for recording and need to decide where to connect DMIC, to MCU or TAS2563? What do you suggest about where I should connect DMIC for recording?

Also, is there any document about how to update TAS2563 if there is a firmware update at future?

Kind regards,

Burak

  • Hi, Burak,

  • Hi Burak,

The PDM mic update is not online yet, but we can support with an offline installer.

The firmware update is embedded in the offline installer, so when you use this version you will be able to select PDM data for SDOUT. Some specific changes for PDM support are below:

    • SDOUT data selection includes MIC1 on channel 0, MIC2 on channel 1 and Echo Reference on channel 2.
    • PDM control registers are not included in the data sheet, but you can refer to the attached slides for further information.

Please reach out through private e2e message or directly to my email to provide a link to download the offline installer as well as instructions: ivan.salazar@ti.com
