TLV320ADC5140: Registers not in datasheet

Part Number: TLV320ADC5140

Audio team,

Purepath Console, connected with the ADC5140 EVM, allows you to see the values in many registers that aren't listed in the datasheet.  Is there any reason a customer should be modifying the values in these?  Is there any additional document they should be referring to for these additional registers?

There are too many registers to list here, but examples of the register names are:

MISC_CFG, CLKGEN_CFG, INT_LIVE0, CH5_CFG0, DRECFG1

Thanks,
Darren

  • Hi Darren,

Please make sure you are using the latest version of the GUI as there are some registers and writes that have changed since the initial GUI development and a select few that are no longer user accessible due to actual device behavior. You can update the GUI tile within PPC3 by signing in.

You will notice in some of the app notes (like for advanced DRE users) there are additional registers that are not mentioned in the datasheet. This is because the majority of customers will not need to access these registers, but they are provided in the additional documentation for advanced users.

The CLKGEN registers are a unique case as the majority of users will rely on the auto-clock detection features. For users that want unique combinations not supported by the auto-clock feature the datasheet recommends to use the GUI to do these calculations and determine the correct values to write. This is why these registers are included in the GUI.

    Best,

    Zak
