TLV320ADC5140: G.711 Audio Format Support

Hi Team,

We are interfacing the IC TLV320ADC5140IRTWR to the AHD cameras, where the analog cameras sends audio data to this audio codec IC.

Does this Codec support G.711 u law format? or how this format can be implemented using this codec.

The audio codec will be interfaced to iMX8 Quad plus processor via I2S interface. NXP has confirmed it will support G.711 u law audio codec foramt.

    Hello Manoj,

    The TLV320ADC5140 does not feature any hardware or DSP enabled u-Law/A-Law formatting schemes and this is typically handled by the host processor in the application which will communicate with the ADC5140 over I2S or TDM and then perform the encoding/decoding between the incoming Audio data and the outgoing uplink audio signals.
