TPA6404-Q1: AC load disgnostics of TPA6404-Q1

Part Number: TPA6404-Q1

Hi team,

in customer application, the channle 1 and channel 4 of TPA6401 connect tweeter, the channel 2 and channel 3 is connect woofer .

we have below questions:

1. customer use DC load disgnostics, pull down stanby pin and 0x09=01, write 0x04=0xFF. Found two tweeter have "di di" noise. How to remove "didi "noise, and why is this happening?

2. I check the A/N, for tweeter, usually use AC load disgnostics. Can we disable DC disgnostics of channel 1/4 and enable AC disgnostics to remove the noise?

3. If yes, what the result of AC disgnostics? Does the AC disgnostics will report short load/ open or short power? In the datasheet , it is measure the Impedance Phase. how does the AC disgnostics work? how to detect the connection status?

thanks.

  • Hi Betty,

Did customer monitor output to check when pop noise happened? during DC diag or end of DC diag?

Each channel DC diag and AC diag function is separated, customer can enable or disable each channel by register.

AC diag can only report load impedance and phase, it can not detect short/open fault.

You can sent e-mail to me for further discussion.

    Regards,

    Derek
