TAS2563YBGEVM-DC: Need Suggestions for Audio Amplifier in QFN Package

Part Number: TAS2563YBGEVM-DC
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS2110, TAS2563, TAS2505

Hi,

I am looking for an Audio Amplifier with Audio Processing capability similar to TAS2563 but in QFN package since 0.4mm pitch BGA packages need via-in-pad and since there is no any other BGA in our design we don't want to make PCB manufacturing and assembly more expensive. TAS2110 is a good candidate in QFN package. However, it doesn't have an audio processing capability. We were using TAS2505 in our previous version of our product. It is still a good candidate but it doesn't have PPC3 compatibility as I am aware of and like TAS2563 kind of newer audio amplifiers offers more and better features.

  • Our product is 3.7V single cell li-ion battery powered.
  • We plan to use a 8 ohm mono speaker that could has power rating 1 to 5W.
  • Audio processing capability is needed.
  • Boosted Class D (preferable for better efficiency)
  • QFN package.
  • PPC3 or any other software compatibility for easier evaluation.
  • If VDD is 1.8V and there is no implemented LDO, dedicated pin for IOVDD is preferable for not using an extra level shifter for each IO pin.

Could you please share suggestions for audio amplifiers with that may suit our requirements?

Many thanks to your help.

Burak

  • Hi, Burak,

Welcome to E2E and thank you for your interest in our products!

Our team will take a look at your requirements list and will come back with some suggestions.

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.

  • Hi Burak,

Could you provide details on your project timeline?
We're currently working on releasing TAS2563 in QFN package and it should be available for broad market by the end of this year. I can share a draft of the data sheet with the pin description and package details if you consider this is a good option.

  • Hi Ivan,

This is a perfect news. It would be great if you share the draft of the datasheet with the pin description and package details with me. According to our timeline, we plan a mass production in August of 2021 and we are planning to finish preliminary prototype until end of this year. I think only problem here getting samples to use in the prototype. What could be the earliest date that we can get QFN samples of TAS2563 to evaluate it in our preliminary prototype? If we can get samples before it is available for broad market, it is going to be perfect.

    Kind regards,

    Burak

  • Hi Burak,

Let me reach out to you offline to loop in our product engineering team for details on the sample availability.
I'll close this thread for now.
