PCM2707C: USB input device driver support (USB microphone)

Part Number: PCM2707C

I want to use the PCM2707C as a bridge between an I2S codec and USB. The application would be to make a USB microphone / speaker device. I have an eval board from Maxim that uses this part, but so far I have only seen the USB DAC function in Windows 10 and Mac OS. Does this chip support both audio input and output over USB to a host computer, or is it only a USB speaker device?

Best,

Andrew

  • This device does not support audio inputs.  This device only supports output functions.  The FUN3 I2S input acts as a bypass for the USB data and can be used to drive the DAC output directly with an external I2S source, which is useful for testing.

You can look at the PCM29xx family to support a mic input and headphone output.

    Thanks,

    Paul
