TLV320AIC3101: power up sequence

Part Number: TLV320AIC3101

Hi team,

My customer had the same problem with the follow link. I‘d like to know if the power up sequence of question Q2 in the link is OK. But there is no final answer in the post. I could appreciate it if you could confirm this question?

  • Hi Amy,

Thank you for your question. Many of our engineers are taking vacation due to the Christmas holiday in the US. Once they return from the holiday, they will address your question. I apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

  • Hi Amy,

Please see the following E2E FAQ on AIC310x power supply sequencing. The thread explains that this is for the AIC3109-Q1 but these devices fall in the same family and the information is the same for both.

In short summary, the device is very tolerant of supply sequencing but the recommended sequencing will provide the most robust operation of the device. If AVDD/DRVDD is powered on last, then it may get back powered by DVDD and if other components in the system are connected to this supply, the CODEC may try to source current. The device is not designed for high current sourcing so there may be some reliability issue here.

Normal operation of the device will resume once AVDD/DRVDD are fully powered on.

    Regards,

    Aaron
