TPA3245EVM: About OSC

Part Number: TPA3245EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3245

I have questions about OSC_IOM and OSC_IOP pin.

1. How can I connect the clock pulse from the MPU to this port?

 Output of the MPU(clock pulse)  =  OSC_IOM, GND = OSC_IOP?

2. Please tell me the range of the input frequency.

best regards!

  • Hi,

Could you clarify for me what you mean by MPU? I would note that the TPA3245 OSC_IOP and OSC_IOM pins do not have to be connected. There is an internal oscillator in the TPA3245.

For question (2), the range of the input frequency is listed under OSCILLATOR in table 7.5 Electrical Characteristics.

    Regards,

    Dan

  • Thank you for your reply.
I 'm thinking to control "f_PWM" using external oscillator. MPU is a microcomputer.
    Regards.
  • Hi,

Okay, I understand. In order to use OSC_I/O pins as inputs, they need to come from a external differential clock. So both OSC_IOP and OSC_ION have to be connected, and FREQ_ADJ would have to be tied to DVDD. Connecting one OSC_I/O to ground should not work. This information can be found in section "10.2.1.2.4 Oscillator" of the TPA3245 datasheet.

    Best Regards,

    Dan
