TPA2012D2: Power On/Off sequence

Part Number: TPA2012D2

I have a question to the power ON/ OFF seqeunce from the TPA2012D audio amp. Are there some time restriction (Audio-signal, Power, Shutdown)?

What could happen when the power voltage return to 1,6V  and not to 0V in OFF mode? Is this allawed?

Best regards,

R. Jakob

  • Hi Rene,

Welcome to E2E, thanks for your interest in our products.
There are no restrictions on timelines, but it is recommended to turn the device on before setting an input signal.
If the power supply is only feeding to AVDD and PVDD pins shouldn't generate any problem. But if the power supply is feeding some digital input could generate problems due to the minimum high-level input voltage is 1.3V, it means that the digital input would be active.

  • Hi José,

thanks for the quick reply. In our application die digital input G0 is feeded by the power supply. G1 is connected to GND.

In the Power OFF-Mode there is still 1,6 V present on G0 input. The SDL and SDR are are switched to 0V.

You mean the 1,6V on the G0 input can cause problems. So it would be better to change the Power Supply in OFF mode to 0V.

    Best regards,

    R. Jakob

  • Rene,

There is no problem if the voltage is only in G0 pin while SDL and SDR pins are switched to GND because the device is in shutdown mode.
