TPA3118D2: What factor will effect the phase difference between SW+ and SW- signal ?

Part Number: TPA3118D2

Dear all

Below is TPA3118D2 circuit diagram, but there is a phase problem, the phase of SW+ and SW- are not synchronize, the SW+ would be del ay for the SW- in 760ns time.

I want to know, what factor will effect the phase difference between SW+ and SW- signal ?

  • Hi Went,
Do you think the phase offset is an issue please? The phase offset actually helps to pass EMI test, but doesn't cause any performance loss.
    Best regards,
    Shawn Zheng
  • Dear Shawn

In your opinion, the phase offset is normal ? But what conditions will be phase offset ?

  • Hi Went,
I just notice that you are using TPA3118D2. The phase offset is not expected on this device. The scope capture you shown above is for the differential output OUTP and OUTN? They should be alligned.
From your SCH, slave mode is used. Where is the Sync clock from? Make sure it's from another master AMP device. And from the scope screen capture, the PWM frequency is only 131kHz, which is quite low. The OSC is not working within the recommended range.
    Best regards,
    Shawn Zheng
