TPA3113D2: TPA3113D2 limit output power

Part Number: TPA3113D2

Hello,

i'm writing because i have a device developed for us where we use the TPA3113D2 connected to two 1.5W 4ohm speakers. Our problem is that the PVCCR is 5V so the max output power could be (5*5)/4 = 6W and the Vplim is 2.56V. As visible in the datasheet www.ti.com/.../tpa3113d2.pdf , at pag 15 in the chart, this voltage is more or less for a Pout=6W, too.

If i change this R for reach a lower V_PLIM can i limit the power output to 1.5W in this amplifier or i could have many distorsions problem regarding the low power output from this amplifier?

We don't have find speaker with 8ohm impendence with the same dimensions.

Thanks
