PCM1754-Q1: How fast MUTE works?

Hello,

The speed of MUTE for PCM1753 and PCM1755 is explained in the datasheet. But how about PCM1754? How long does it take from normal audio output level to infinite attenuation, and vice versa?

Hi Oguri-san,

The mute functionality would be the same as the PCM1753/5, but soft mute begins with the edge of the MUTE signal rather than the register write.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for the prompt feedback. But it is still not clear how long it will be.

Below is the description of the soft mute for PCM1753/5. What is the "current setting" for PCM1754? Is it 1111 1111b?

"When mute is enabled by setting MUTx = 1, the digital attenuator for the corresponding output is decreased from the current setting to infinite attenuation, one attenuator step (0.5 dB) for every 8 / fS seconds."

The current setting would be 0dB. The device is fully after 128 steps, or 128×8/fS.
