TLV320AIC3104: Evaluation Kit Software Installation Issues

Part Number: TLV320AIC3104

I currently have the Evaluation Kit TLV320AIC3104EVM-K , but the installation process is not functioning correctly.

(using a Windows 10 PC)

My error is very similar to what is explained in the post linked below:

I get the error message: "The windows installer engine is corrupt. To attempt to resolve this issue, please register the engine by regsvr32.exe on msi.dll."

So I ran the process explained in the previous post, but another error occurred when using the USB-MODEVM_WD. The error message states "Install Error : The third-party INF does not contain digital signature information."

Can you please provide a recommendation for installation. Thank You

Hello Scott,

It looks like the driver signature enforcement is not disabled. Please follow the steps below to disable this on Win10:

1. Windows Settings

2. Update & Security

3. Go to Recovery tab on the left

4. Go to Advanced startup and restart the PC

5. Then go to Troubleshoot --> Advanced Options

6. On the bottom of the window, click on See More Recovery Options

7. Start-Up settings --> Restart

This should disable the driver signature for windows and restart your PC. The USB-MODEVM drivers are not signed and this seems to cause problems when trying to install the drivers. Let me know if this helps!

Aaron,

I performed the steps above, and I still get an "Install Error" message during install of the "USB-MODEVM_vista&7" that states "The third-party INF does not contain digital signature information."

I also tried installing the setup.exe, without any luck

Hi Scott,

I am attaching drivers that should be signed to see if this helps with the driver installation. I recommend going through the driver signature disabling process once more just to be on the safe side and then try to install these drivers. When running the executable, run it as an administrator.

Aaron,

Thank you for sending this along. I installed the Driver successfully.

Unfortunately when I go back and try to install the TLV320AIC310xEVM "setup.exe" I still am given the error below:

"The Windows Installer engine is corrupt. To attempt to resolve this issue, please register the engine by running regsvr32.exe on msi.dll"

Do you know why this would still be happening?

Only thing I can think of is if another EVM from TI is effecting this install... I have the PurePath Console and DRV109xx EVM installed on the same machine currently.

Hi Scott, glad to see that the drivers were successfully installed. Have you tried the "Troubleshoot Compatibility" option again when trying to install the GUI now that the drivers are installed?

I have tried the "Troubleshoot Compatibility" for both the Windows 7 and Windows Vista rollback, no luck.

After I had tried these and click the "check for a solution online" I get this response:

Issues found "Incompatible Program , Not Fixed "

If you haven't done so already, I would check to see if you have the latest version of the NI-VISA drivers installed. You can find them here.

It is still not resolved.

Our IT Department tried to turn off driver signature requirement but it's still not working.

I also updated the NI-VISA drivers, no luck still.

Our IT department would like additional help to solve this, if you have any further recommendations.
