TAS5421-Q1: Ramp rate limitation

Part Number: TAS5421-Q1

HI

In the datasheet maximum rating, there is a limitation for Supply voltage ramp rate, ΔV(PVDD_RAMP), must be less than 15V/ms, could you please tell me why this is limited and how to guarantee the ramp rate? Add capacitors on supply pin? Thanks

  • HI Wayne,

The ramp rate is in place due to the time needed to protect the device from an overvoltage condition.  Although the time is very short, there still needs to have this specification.

The capacitors on the PVDD pin and the series inductor typically have a slower ramp time.
