In 2.1 mode with subwoofer, BQ1 block settings seem to change behavior of BQ4a block. For example, if BQ4a is set to Butterworth 2 LPF at 400 Hz, then applied, it seems to work normally. However, if the BQ1 block is set to Butterworth 2 HPF at 400 Hz and applied, it seems to be applied to BQ4a block, however it does not show in the setting window. The BQ4a block will not operate correctly unless the BQ1a filter is removed (set to all-pass). What is going on?

Hello Ted,

In section 3.4.1 of the user's guide we online how to deal with a bug with BQ4a https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slou481a/slou481a.pdf. If you follow this this EVM/GUI should be in sync.

We are aware of the bug you mentioned in section 3.4.1 of the user guide, but the countermeasure described there did not resolve this issue, the one wonders if this bug is not in some way related.

That indeed fixed it. TI ought to at least include an errata with the eval board, since it's a problem that has been known about for years.
