LMX2531: LMX2531

Part Number: LMX2531

Sir,

We recently measured the tuning voltage of different frequencies when the synthesizer is settle and the result is shown in the attachment.

The figure imply that LMX2531 have negative Kvco in each frequency band.

Would you pls help advise what the reason for that is?

 Thanks, Ian.

  • Ian,

Unfortunately, we can not disclose this for two reasons:
    1. It gives insight into our design of our VCOs, and this is intellectual property.
    2. It is questionable how understanding this could help a customer better design in our device.

VCOs can be created with a positive or negative tuning coefficient depending on the orientation of the varactor diode. This choice for orientation for the architecture we chose was arbitrary, but we chose the way we did for a good reason, but I can not disclose that reason.

    Regards,
    Dean
