LMK04821: lmk04828b sysref LMK04821

Part Number: LMK04821
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK04828,

Hello,

We have designed a LTE enodeB based on K2L EVM, and currently testing the same.

With LMK04828, we are getting Deframer status error. So when we checked for clocks, we observed the sysref of 120KHz. So we changed LMK04821 and now the sysref is 120KHz. But the problem is we have TX and RX PLL lock error. means we have gone backwards in our testing. Previously we had the TX and RX PLL locked and getting only deframing error.

Kindly let us know what changes we need to look into since we changed the Clock IC from LMK04828 to LMK04821. we are struck in this issue and not able to proceed. Kindly advice..

Thanks & Regards,

Sumathi

  • Hello Sumathi,

I'm afraid I don't enough enough information to help you. As I understand you measured a 120 kHz SYSREF frequency on both LMK04828 and LMK04821. How did you measure this frequency?

Did the LMK04828 show PLL lock for PLLs used? I'm not sure the configuration of the device... dual loop, single loop, etc. Can you share the programming?
Does the LMK04821 show PLL lock for PLLs used? I'm not sure the configuration of the device... dual loop, single loop, etc. Can you share the programming?
Are TX and RX PLL lock error referring to some other system element or LMK0482x?

Can you share a block diagram of your system and explain more?
Are you concerned about the performance of the LMK?
What other frequencies is the LMK0482x generating?
