Hello E2E,

How to deal with non-use output channel?

In past design, customer already program that port output. due to some system design reason, they don't need that output clock anymore.

if customer doesn't want to do the re-programming to disable that channel, please advise the way to deal with that output channel.

We come out two ways, but we are not sure which one is better.

(1) tie 50 ohm to ground on that output channel

(2) remove its bias power at input side, but no change anything on output side

BR,

Jason

  • Hello Jason,

I recommend option (1) tie 50-ohm to GND

    Vibhu,

    Thanks for your reply.

Please allow me to ask more detail about the side effect in option (2) ONLY.

    BR,

    Jason

    Hello Jason,

I believe VDDO for CH0 and CH1 are tied to some of the internal digital blocks in the device. So VDDO01 should definitely be powered. Other VDDOs may be ok but I cannot guarantee everything will be ok.
