LMX2594EVM: Output Power Specifications

Part Number: LMX2594EVM

Hello,

I'd like to request further information (from what is available in the product's datasheet) on the performance of this evaluation board.

Specifically, do you have data on the variation in output power in relation to temperature at a fixed frequency of 4 GHz (or in the 4 GHz range). Additionally, at a fixed temperature and frequency (say a room temperature of 25 C and a frequency of 4 GHz) what is the maximum expected variation/error in the output power. If possible, charts or tables with this information would be very helpful.

Thank you for any help.

Regards,

Daniel

  • Daniel,

1.Variation in output power in relation to temperature as a function of output frequency

That's figure 19 on page 16.  Maybe you were hoping to have something with more temperatures than -40, 25, and 85, but we don't have this.

2.Maximum Expected variation in output power

We don't guarantee output power, so let's avoid the word "maximum".   That being said, we can say this:

Datasheet typical curves show variation over temperature and frequency

Based on corner lot data, looking at the difference of fast and slow lots at 2.4,5,7,9,10, and 13 GHz, I saw the worst case variation for all frequencies below 13 GHz to be less than 0.4 dB.  At 13 GHz, I saw 1.5 dB.  Note in our datasheet, we give comments specifically from 13.3 to 14.3 GHz in figure 19 comments, so it's probably just near the 13-14 GHz range where it is more.

  • Dean,

    Thank you for your answer.

    1. Indeed, I looked at figure 19 in the datasheet but was hoping for something with more temperatures. Possibly a similar graph but replacing the x-axis with temperature and either one or various curves that represent different frequencies. Do you have something like this available?

    2. Although you don't guarantee output power, the information on a worst variation of 0.4 dB for frequencies below 13 GHz does help, thank you.

    Regards,

    Daniel

  • Daniel,

1.Really, we don't have this with smaller temperature steps.  Our characterization is just a few temperatures.

    2. Glad this was able to help.
