TPL5010: WAKE signal not generating

Part Number: TPL5010

Hello,

I am using TPL5010 in my project and I followed the recommended design mentioned in the data sheet. WAKE pin is directly connected to MCU interrupt pin. For testing I have added ~10K R_Ext resistor for a 8 sec  t_IP and a 100 K pullup on RST without manual reset circuit.

But I don't see any WAKE signal coming out from TPL5010 after t_IP. Although RST signal is generating successfully, this is normal because without WAKE I cannot generate DONE from MCU.

Can you please tell me what is going on, as I have copied the exact circuit recommended in the datasheet.

Thank you,

leonahi

  • Hello,

It seems the problem is solved, there was nothing wrong with the hardware design. Its just that in the software I was not applying the first DONE signal to initiate the WAKE sequences. I was not expecting that TPL5010 needs a DONE signal in order to behave normally after reset or power up.

I am not sure if I overlooked but this is not mentioned in the datasheet.

    Sorry to bother.

    Regards,

  • Hi Leonahi,

The timing diagram for the proper startup sequence is shown in the datasheet in Figure 9. I'm glad you were able to figure the problem out on your own. Good luck with the rest of your design and feel free to submit any new questions you might have.
