TLC555-Q1: Usage example to control two PWM delay time

Part Number: TLC555-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLC555

Hello Support team

My customer is looking for the following solution. If TLC555s can achieve this, could you introduce TLC555s usage condition example?

*Need to output two same PWM signal (frequency : 50Hz to 100Hz, Duty 50%).

*Need to control delay time on each PWM signals by using DC voltage

Thanks,

Koji Ikeda

  • Koji-san,

If the 50% duty cycle is important then I would suggest making a 100Hz to 200Hz master clock (one TLC555 can do that and duty cycle doesn't matter ) Send master  clock directly to a 'divide by two logic flip flop' (on negative input edge). Also send master clock to a TLC555 monostable that sets the delay time. The time delay output goes to a second 'divide by two logic flip flop' (on negative input edge). The only downside is that the flip flop must be initialized on power up otherwise the outputs will be inverted from each other. So two TLC555, 2 FF.

If 50% is not important then I can suggest an easier solution.
