CDCE913: Duty cycle of the SYNC

Part Number: CDCE913

Hi team,

Could you help to double check whether TI clock pro can program the duty cycle or sync trigger edge singal?

For the selection of a clock generation IC chip, the requirements are as follows:

The working power supply is 3.3V, which supports at least two kinds of frequency output CMOS level (3.3V). One is 2.048MHz (clock signal) and 8kHz (synchronous signal),These two frequencies have the following corresponding relationship, the rising edge of the two shall be aligned, and the 8kHz(synchronous signal) high level cycle includes eight clock signals. (So the duty cycle may not be 50%, how to configure this )

Frequency configuration of the chip: it is also configured through SPI, IIC or UART interfaces

I found the following model cdce913pw on the TI official website. The required frequency can be configured through TI Clock Pro software, but there is no duty cycle and synchronization. I don't know if it can meet my requirements,

If not, please recommend other devices. Thank you for your help

  • Hello,

I would like to understand the requirement better: .

2 LVCMOS clocks are needed. Must be 2.048 MHz and 8 kHz. The rising edges need to be synced together. And the need for duty cycle to be programmable is to ensure only 8 high signals of the 8 kHz signal while the 2.048 MHz signal toggles, correct? 50% duty cycle would result in 256 cycles of 8 kHz signal during the 2.048 MHz single cycle.

    Is that correct?

    Regards, Amin

  • Hi Amin

Yes, customer needs duty cycle to be programmable is to ensure only 8 high signals of the 8 kHz signal while the 2.048 MHz signal toggles. As you said, if 50% duty, then there would be 256cycles, they needs 8 cycles.  So how to achieve this duty cycle programmable function?

    Best Regards

    Gene

  • Hi Gene,

The CDCE913 does not have this capability. Nor do I know of any other device with clock and timing solutions that has duty cycle programmablity.

    Thanks and regards,

    Amin
