Hello TI technical support:

Please help me to understand the Synths + PLL (LMX 2595 and LMX2594).

How is the Vtune worked? is it having a range of voltages to vary in order to output different frequencies, if it does what is the range? or else. I believe that 2595 and 2594 very much the same; only difference in its output frequencies.

Please help me to understand that. Thanks!

Hello Anthony,

The LMX2594 and LMX2595 have the same VCO frequency range to produce frequencies up to 15 GHz. However in addition to this the LMX2595 also has a VCO doubler which allows it to output up to 20 GHz.

The output of the VCO is controlled by the VCO calibration process. Please see the below app note for details:
