MSP430F5529:Using timer for counting down

Hello there,

I want to build a "alarm". On my msp there should run a countdown using the build in timers. When within a certain time is no button press detected, it should e.g. turn on an red led. The main Problem is here, that i unfortunately don't know how to use the timers for doing that.

What you need is to use a GPIO interrupt to check if a button is pressed. You also need to use a timer interrupt to do something after a certain time.

You can use a flag in GPIO interrupt ISR to tell the code run in timer interrupt ISR if it need to turn on the red led.
