TPL5110: DRV out to be maintained active

Dear e2e support,

If my understanding of our TPL5110 is correct, the DRV output remains active during a maximum of "Tip-50ms".

Is there a solution to maintain this output always active?

My need is to add a delay between an external event and a relay we have to drive:

external event --> delay set between 0 and 2s --> drive a relay until we decide de reset the function.

Do you see any trick to do this with our TPL5xxx or any other solution?

Correct. That's the kind of application.

Could you explain how a RC on the DRV can latch this output?

DRV is a push-pull, right?

Yes, DRV is push-pull. The RC will not impact the signal at the DRV pin, but at the RC output you may see that the 50ms pulse is mostly filtered out.

One thing to note is that the time interval of TPL5110 can only be set at power up, it cannot be changed dynamically. Do you need to change the time interval each time?

Perhaps you can use the TPL5110 in one shot mode . Request the DRV output using M_DRV as shown in Figure 12 (use the external event to control M_DRV)
