LMX2594: R31[14] Typo?

Part Number: LMX2594

Hello team,

Description of R31[14] SEG1_EN bit is described as below.

  • Enable driver buffer for CHDIV> 2
  • 0:Disabled ( only valid for CHDIV = 2 )
  • 1:Enabled ( use for CHDIV > 2 )

Looking at datasheet table 8, this seems not correct.

Is CHDIV typo and EQUIVALENT DIVISION VALUE correct?

Best regards,

  • Hi Sato-san,

maybe the datasheet is not clear enough, SEG1_EN needs to be enabled whenever the total division is greater than 2.

as you can see from Figure 24 of the datasheet, there is a fixed 1/2 divider (SEG0) in front of the configurable dividers. When the total division is 2, all the configurable dividers should be bypassed. When the total division is greater than 2, SEG1 should be enabled and this should be done manually by making SEG1_EN = 1. SEG2 and SEG3 will be turned ON/OFF automatically.

  • Hello Noel-san,

    Thank you for your comment.

So, R31[14] description should be below, correct?

    • 0: Disabled( total division(EQUIVALENT DIVISION VALUE) = 2 )
    • 1: Enabled( total division(EQUIVALENT DIVISION VALUE) > 2 )

    Best regards,

  • Hello Noel-san,

I understand CHDIV=2 of R31[14] description means CHDIV[4:0]=0, not CHDIV[4:0]=2. So R31[14] description is correct, but it is confusing a little.

    Best regards,
