LMX2595: Loss of reference detection

Part Number: LMX2595
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2594

Hello team,

I have a question for LMX2595.

Is there any way to detect loss of reference(OSCin) or state machine clock?

When doing FCAL_EN without OSCin, R110[D10:D8]=7 and Vtune=1.3V seem to be observed. Can I understand the status represents no OSCin condition?

Best regards,

  • Taketo-san,

The LMX2594 lock detect will sense if the input reference is removed and report loss of lock.

State 7 for {D10:D8} is "Fvco Low", which is what you would expect with no input reference.

IF you try to run calibration with no state machine clock, it will probly not run correctly and 1.3 V is about the voltage that the Vtune is held at during calibration

    regards

    dean
