LMX2615-SP: LMX2615-SP NC pin connection.

Hi Team,

In the device datasheet NC pins are recommended to left open or connected to GND and specifically NC pins, pin33, pin58 are recommended to left open.

What is the recommended for device best performance, left open or connected to ground?

What happens if pin33 & pin58 are connected to ground? Can it create any performance issue/degradation?

Hello Shinu,

The datasheet explicitly distinguishes between no connect pins that may be grounded, and no connect pins that should be left unconnected. Pin33 and pin58 should not be connected to GND, as they may be used for undisclosed test functions. The other no connect pins indicate grounding is an option, and for optimal performance I recommend grounding these when possible.

Assume yes, the datasheet language suggests leaving them open as the optimal configuration.

It will take me some time to get access to the bondout diagram to confirm whether there is anything connected to these pins, and what effect shorting to GND could have. I'll provide an update once I have an answer.

I got access to the bondout diagram, pin33 and pin58 are not connected to anything and can be safely grounded. There should be no performance issue/degradation from connecting these two pins to GND. The datasheet language for these pins is an oversight, and I will add it to our list of corrections. Please treat pin33 and pin58 like other no-connect pins, and ground if desired.
