Jack,

I have put together a simulation (attached at the bottom) for the A-stable configuration. In order to achieve the delay you will want to control the reset pin with a known voltage that could come from a microcontroller. In the simulation I have used a time controlled switch in order to show the delay function.

You can see below, the delay I used is 5ms for demonstration purposes. The trigger occurs at 5V or 1/3VDD.
